My night

My wonderful sister, with assistance from one of my best friends, Paul. Planned the most amazing party for me. She invited 20 of my closest and oldest friends to help me celebrate at my absolute favorite restuarant. The whole night was amazing. The company was amazing. Each of the friends who were there hold a special place in my heart and in my life. They always make the time and do anything they can to help me out. My family is so special. I am so lucky to have a sister who would take the time to plan all this, and to have parents that would help make it happen. Every single thing was perfect. The menu was in French with a special little message for me "Bon Voyage Katherine". The food was amazing. Vinny, the owner, and my friend, outdid himself with all the special little touches that he put together. It really made everything so special and fun. If you have the chance to go to Sabor in Plymouth MA it is so worth it. Thank you to my family and friends for making my night and my life so special and wonderful!

One of my favorite little girls

Last weekend I went to the birthday party of one of my favorite little people, Abbie. My good friend Melissa's little girl. She has such a great little personality. She is so much fun to spend time with. When I spend time with her it is like hanging out with a little friend not a little kid. She has such a good heart. She is such an amazing little girl and it is so wonderful to see what a great person she is becoming. I love you Abbie!

Some people touch your life forever

After looking at how I would like to live my life, I aspire to be like my grandfather Art Haring. He made his life exactly what he wanted to be. He was one of the smartest people I have ever met, and he only had an eighth grade education. He was one of the most zen people I have ever met. He never worried about things. He let life move is it would knowing that nothing is permanent and enjoying the time that he had. He laughed, he loved, he lived life to the fullest. I try to remember everyday that these things are a choice that you make in life. I can choose to be happy or sad. I can choose to be content. How luck I was to have such a wonderful man touch my life for so long. How much a miss him now and wish that I could have him here still. But he is always with me, guiding me, loving me, and looking out for me. I wish everyone could have a person like this touch their lives as my Pop-pop touched mine.

Happy Valentine's Day

I just want to take a moment to say, Happy Valentine's Day to all my loved ones. My friends and family are the source of my strength and I hope very much that this day will be spent with those you cherish. I will be spending this day with one of my closest friends, Paul. We are eachother's standby dates :) But we have so much fun together that it really makes this day one of the really good ones. Paul knows how to make me laugh and how to make me feel special. We are like an old married couple when we laugh and when we fight. (Except of course he is gay so that takes away from the married part. ) I am very thankful that he is a part of my life and will be my valentine. I am happy to have more than one valentine if anyone needs one....does that make me a valentine's day Ho? Maybe...I am okay with that!

My family and Friends

As I get ready to leave and move to Europe for a little while, I just want to take a moment to say how much my family and friends mean to me. My family has been my rock and my support. Whenever I needed anything they have always been there. I have now reached a stage in my life where the friends that I have now are the ones that I truly cherish. These are the people I have the most fun with. They are the ones that truly make my laugh, which is very hard to do. First is my mother, she is more fun than I am and more comfortable with life and how life changes. Then there is my father, he would do anything for me and has gone to great lengths to make sure that I could always accomplish my dreams. There is my sister, who has always been there for me and shares all those jokes and stories that make only us laugh when no one else understands. (as well she house the two cutest nephews that I could ever have!) My Friend Paul knows how to make me laugh even when I want to cry, who could ask for more than that. My friend Crystal is always there to listen to me no matter how ridiculous the things are I talk about. My friend Maggie is always there to take care of me and pick me up whenever I need her. My friend Sara, truly understands me, not an easy thing to do. The girls, my grayson girls, together we are better. They are the people that help me to remember where I came from and help me to follow my dreams. Thank you to all those who make my life better by just being themselves!

Getting Ready for the Next Chapter

It seems like so much is changing so quickly. As bad as things were a couple years ago they are coming back that good tenfold now. Brazil was absolutely amazing. Anyone who knows me knows how much I have always wanted to travel. Going to Brazil has totally reinvigorated me to leave and go to Europe. It was so amazing to see Brazil with all the culture and the people. (The Sun and the Sand and the 90 degrees did not hurt either!) I don't have a final leaving date yet for Luxembourg but I it is still estimated to be the beginning of March until September. As it gets closer and things start to move faster, I am feeling a mix of excitment and nervousness. I am excited to do something completely new and to not let myself get stuck in my day to day funk of sleepwalking through life. I am also nervous because everything is changing, for better or worse. (I am sure better) I am going to try to use this blog to highlight my time over in Europe, so that I can easily share my time with you all and my photographs. I have started by including some of my pictures from Brazil. Please let me know what you think and if you want any of them I would be happy to order some for you! Enjoy your weekend and the photos...more to come soon!
